(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - A senior Iranian commander says the wave of Islamic Awakening sweeping the Arab world and spreading to other nations has started to seriously endanger superpowers.
“Islamic Awakening in the world has rung the death bell for the world's superpowers,” Armed Forces commander, Brigadier General Seyyed Mohammad Hejazi, said on Wednesday in the southern city of Bushehr.
“The arrogant powers feel endangered and on the verge of collapse more than any time before,” he added.
He said the state of rapid decline has prompted such powers to wage a propaganda war targeting the Muslim world and to level hollow allegations against the Muslims.
Hejazi mentioned the West's association of Muslims with 'terrorism' and its introduction of Islamophobia as 'worthless actions' and ones aimed at dampening the wave of Islamic Awakening.
“This great uprising that has erupted in Muslim countries is herald of superpowers' fall,” he said.
The remarks came amid ongoing protests in the Middle East, which aim at toppling the despotic regimes in the region. The demonstrations were triggered by revolutions in Tunisia and Egypt, which overthrew the countries' US-backed dictatorial regimes early in 2011.
